Our first trip to Turks & Caicos – and specifically Villa 306 overlooking Grace Bay beach – ruined us for any other beach, anywhere else.
The crowning jewel of Villa 306 is the huge Juliette balcony overlooking swaying palm trees, lush grounds all meticulously maintained by the Villa Renaissance staff. Beyond is the sweeping, wide expanse of powdered sugar white beach and crystal clear, cool turquoise waters of Grace Bay Beach just calling you to come float your cares away.
This is considered the best swath of beach on the island, and we and everyone we met on our visit concur!
It’s peaceful with plenty of space for everyone to find their own grouping of comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas, unlike some of those destinations where people are right on top of each other.
It’s an amazing way to spend a few hours – or the whole day.
Moving from lounge chair, to water, to a stroll down the nearly empty beach, and repeating.
You can even have lunch, snacks and cool beverages delivered to you by the attentive Villa Renaissance staff.
When you finally drag yourself off the beach, Villa 306 is waiting with the amenities and comfort you would expect at the world’s top beach destination.
Our routine included a cool dip in the swimming pool before heading up the semi-private elevator to the white and bright Villa 306, boasting two large bedrooms and two lux baths. A wall of glass opening out to the balcony unites a spacious living area with a cheerful work center with a Mac desktop (if you must); a dining area seating six or more; and a fully appointed granite kitchen with stainless appliances that overlooks it all.
The owners totally got it right in the kitchen department.
The cabinets are loaded with glassware for every kind of beverage, including brightly colored margarita and martini glasses and a wonderful collection of Villa 306 branded Yeti wine coolers, coffee mugs, tumblers and giant beer/water tankards to keep you hydrated in the Villa or on the beach.
There’s also the cookware and dishes to whip up and serve your own gourmet meal, with supplies sourced from the nearby Grace Bay Gourmet market.
Watch a good movie on the big screen television, and then fall into sumptuous Five-Star resort quality bedding to sleep deeply from the right kind of worn out. The kind that comes from a long and rich day of playing and relaxing in the Caribbean sunshine.
