THE VILLA AT GRACE BAY BEACH

Less than 20 minutes from Providenciales International Airport is Villa 306, the luxury Grace Bay beachfront property we’d call home for the next week.

ARRIVING AT OUR VILLA

While preparing for this adventure, both my husband and I had read articles, listened to podcasts and watched videos about Grace Bay and the Turks & Caicos in general.

But nothing prepared us for the actual glorious arrival at the #1 beach destination in the world!

After taking in the colorful sights of small shops, businesses and homes where locals were cheerfully going about their daily activities along Leeward Highway, we glided into the heart of Grace Bay with its sparkling white boutiques and restaurants shaded by swaying palm trees.

Right in the center of it all, peacefully tucked off Grace Bay Road was the spectacular Villa Renaissance, a collection of 28 luxurious villas and penthouses overlooking a wide expanse of white powdered sugar beachfront leading to the crystal clear turquoise-toned ocean.

The elegant boutique property reflects the architecture of the Italian and French Riveria while blending in the Caribbean colors of creamy white, turquoise and sand. The lush, meticulously maintained grounds showcase more towering palm trees ripe with coconuts, flowering plants and ocean-themed sculptures.

Our driver, Dr. Love, came to a full stop at the open air, central arched entrance into the Villa Renaissance, and my husband and I just looked at each other, wide eyed with delight and anticipation.

Then I realized as we got out of the van that I forgot to ask how to gain entrance to Villa 306.

Before I could even voice my concern to my husband or Dr. Love, a smiling young woman walked up to welcome us by and introduced herself as Beverly. (When we provided our flight information upon confirming our reservation with the owners of Villa 306, I had no idea it would result in a private, personal greeting by onsite staff.)

Next Beverly offered us a complimentary rum punch. We said, “yes, please!”

After she handing us each the delicious concoction, Beverly escorted us through the center of the property where a long and inviting pool and hot tub sparkled with artistic azure, turquoise and gold mosaic tile work and an expanse of decking with plenty of room for guests to spread out in privacy on luxurious lounges shaded by huge umbrellas.

Another central archway leading out a wooden boardwalk offered our first full glimpse of the of the beach and ocean. Beverly guided us on to a semi-private elevator that took us directly to the third floor and front door of Villa 306.

She opened the door for us, and we entered the break-taking sunny villa where lights, fans and air conditioning were already turned on to greet us.

My husband and I both just dropped our backpacks and suitcases at the front door as we were drawn like moths to the wall length of glass opening to a huge Juliette balcony overlooking a beachfront scene, like we’d never seen before.

We were mesmerized by the views. And energized to make every minute of our T&C adventure.
